After reading the special report from LifeSite News on Obama's day at Notre Dame, I can only conclude that those who fell for his rhetoric are blinded by the hero-worship that follows this man. Those who applauded him cannot truly consider themselves to be Catholic. I really hope that some good will come of this travesty, in the form of a stronger presence of leadership in the church, and the willingness of true Catholics to at last stand and be counted amongst those who are faithful to the Magisterium. It is heartening that there were over 360,000 signatures on the petition to rescind the invitation, and that 79 bishops also spoke out. I pray that the sleeping conscience of the average Catholic has at last been awakened. We must fight for our faith, each of us as we are able, even if it is only signing a petition or praying a novena; for if we, the average people, do not speak out, we will be buried beneath the agenda of politicians; our right to practice our faith will be undermined. It is being undermined. Catholics throughout the world are reviled for their beliefs, some even killed for them.
Live your faith, even if it is inconvenient for you. Go to Mass every Sunday, and whenever possible. Follow the teachings of the Church. Pray unceasingly, especially for those who are so blinded by the glory and power of Obama that they cannot see the Glory and Power of God, and end up denying Him.
